| Planning for 2005 |
|
New Year brings an excellent opportunity to plan
for the year. A great time to review the past year, examine past efforts and the
results achieved from them. In business and in life we are always so busy
and quite often unaware of the bigger picture. We can't control what goes
on around us, but we can take control of our own actions and reactions and our
own mental attitude. Don't forget to congratulate yourself for the achievements that you have made in 2004. Take a sheet of A4 paper or write in the back or front of your Diary. Put a heading: What I have achieved in 2004, then in bullet points underneath write everything you have achieved. Underline the achievements that you are really proud of. This will be worth celebrating on New Year's Eve. Write another heading Who am I grateful to, then write down all the people that have encouraged, supported or you have learned from through the year. Write another heading What I will achieve in 2005, and write down the key goals that you want to achieve in 2005, (for example Sales of $ , 100 new customers, 5 new employees, a learning culture for the business, lose 10 kg, etc). Make them stretch but achievable goals. Remember they are your goals ..........so they must be what you want them to be - to make you happy, proud, or excited. Set goals that you want to achieve. |
