In an article published on March 12, 2008 in The Age: http://smallbusiness.theage.com.au/starting/finance/worse-to-come:-business-survey-909502056.html Tim Colebatch writes that both business conditions and business confidence continue to deteriorate. One in four of the businesses surveyed said profitability was poor last month, while the average change in prices has slowed to 0.5% in the past quarter.

though - they have something to smile about as the number of
loans for both first time buyers and owner/occupiers rose, as
did the number of mortgage holders re-financing.
Make sure
you stay ahead of the game by keeping up to date with how
the shifting economy affects your company…… will it make your
customers more or less likely to spend, how will it change their
spending priorities, and what can you offer that will assist
them?

There are a number of key steps you can take to improve your skills in this area and make sure your business goes from strength to strength.
All businesses have to deal with cashflow issues. These cashflow issues are magnified when sales increase and the finance process is not under control. Many growing businesses end up bankrupt before they have really given themselves a chance. Growing a business is the riskiest time of a business. and quite frequently I see cashflow issues, and business owners that don’t know what is owed to the business. Michael Gerber calls it the adolescent stage. It’s important to make sure systems are in place and the information is correct.
